I purchase this blanket approx 6 weeks ago and haven't turned my bedroom heat on yet. It isn't blazing hot but just enough to keep the chill off in a room of 52 degrees while sleeping. It has dual controls and a timer on it. The only thing I don't like about it is the DC converter boxes that sit under the bed. Some say they're noisy but I haven't noticed. I would recomment this blanket.

I understand the criticisms in the other reviews, but given it's safety, the pros far outweigh the cons. My husband and I have adapted to the warming time by turning it on well before bedtime which ensures a wonderfully warm bed when we get in!! It doesn't take as long to warm up if you are in bed when you turn it on, but we prefer a toasty bed to climb into! We have had the blanket for years and LOVE it...we are purchasing another for our youngest son, who tends to be cold, like me. Only wish I'd thought of it sooner!
